Nicolas Picard (Lab for tissue biology and therapeutic engineering, Lyon, UMR5305 CNRS) is a specialist in kidney morphology and in regulatory mechanisms of renal ion transport. He recently joined the group in Lyon where he develops projects on organ architecture maintenance and its functional integrity (kidney, skin) in adults. He published about 35 articles mainly on ion transport regulation in the distal nephron. His recent research work focus on the participation of renal intercalated cells to NaCl and H+ handling. He also investigates signaling pathways by using high throughtput techniques on isolated nephron segment and renal cells.
