They are essential to vital functions such as the growth of the organism, organ protection, movement and mastication. Our team studies the sane and pathological physiology of these tissues, focusing on cartilage and the dental pulp. Our approach consists in combining fundamental and translational research, around three main themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interactions between cells and the extracellular matrix<\/li>\n<li>Tissue repair and regeneration mechanisms<\/li>\n<li>Biomimetic tissue engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together with hospital practitioners, we are developing a multidisciplinary research with a clinical scope, which involves 3D printing, cell therapy and tissue engineering for the reconstruction of articular cartilage and nasal cartilage, as well as the dental pulp.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5902\" src=\"https:\/\/lbti.ibcp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Intro-english-300x99.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"591\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lbti.ibcp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Intro-english-300x99.png 300w, https:\/\/lbti.ibcp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Intro-english-768x253.png 768w, https:\/\/lbti.ibcp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Intro-english.png 909w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 591px) 100vw, 591px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em><strong>Themes<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our group takes advantage of its long-term studies on chondrocyte differentiation and cartilage development to set up new protocols to repair cartilage, in collaboration with hospitals and industries.
